Many Spanish people love football, but besides football, tennis is also one of the favourite sports of the Spaniards! Their own Nadal is ranked in the top of the world. In Valencia there is every year an ATP tennis tournament. The best tennis players of the world are playing in this tournament and many tennis fans shall be present. Unfortunately, the organizers of the event decided that Valencia Open will not return in 2016. Therefore we will give information about the event only and last year’s edition in order to give you an idea of what the event would be like!
Valencia Open is part of the ATP World Tour. This tennis tournament takes place in the Agora building, part of the Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencas. This building is mainly used for the Valencia Open 500. There are also a few congresses and events organized, including the Valencia Fashion Week. Valencia Open is an indoor tournament and will be played on hard court. In the Agora building a maximum of 6.300 visitors can enjoy the tournament. During this tournament there will be played “singles”, “doubles” and wheelchair competitions.
On the first day there will be qualifying rounds taking place. On Sunday the 25th of October the official tournament will start with the invited tennis players and the winners of de qualifying rounds. Outside of the building, around the Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias, you can find different stands situated with sport products, cafés and games for children.
In 2015 the Valencia Open took place from Saturday 24 October till the 1st of November.
Every year lots of famous tennis players enters the field during the Valencia Open. A few names from last year’s tournament: David Ferrer, John Isner and Mikhail Youzhny. The champion of the tournament was Andy Murray (United States).

The tickets are from €10,00 and the tickets to the finals from €30,00. Tournament tickets (abonos) go from €115,00.
